One way to avoid last-minute headaches is to develop a “Vacation Plan.” This is a document that identifies position-specific tasks, and how another employee can accomplish these tasks. Your Vacation Plan should detail the essential tasks that need to be performed, the location of important forms, documents, and resources, and details of any projects that are in progress or waiting approval.
