Event Staffing Case Study II

In October, 2008 Rainmaker Event Staffing provided staffing services for the American Academy of Optometry’s annual meeting. Located at the Anaheim Convention Center and Anaheim Marriott, over 4,000 attendees were involved in meetings, seminars, awards banquets and continuing education classes. Rainmaker Event Staffing provided continuous on-site supervision and a range of employees that included:

  • Employees stationed at the registration desk, greeting attendees and entering data into computers, printing badges and answering questions
  • Session managers/room monitors stationed throughout the convention center with tasks that required employees to greet attendees, monitor “badge swiping” allowing admission to workshops at the door, manage the seating in the room, circulate various sign-in sheets and distribute handouts
  • Event staff to coordinate banquets and awards ceremonies at both the Convention Center and Anaheim Marriott
